Marijuana Smokers Less Likely

Study Shows That Marijuana Smokers Less Likely To Be Obese..

A study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology on the effects of marijuana and obesity in America proved a point that a lot of people have made when it comes to smoking weed and weight loss. For those of you not familiar with Epidemiology, it basically is the study of how things like disease spreads through people in specific areas at a time, with plenty of that research being on the effects of how substances react in people. Based on the results of the study, the argument that regular intake of marijuana is helpful in the fight against obesity. Dr. Yann Le Strat, the psychiatrist from France who has been doing work with the effects of cannabis for a while, had this to say to MSNBC:
We found that cannabis users are less likely to be obese than non-users...we were so surprised, we thought we had a mistake.
As far as the number go, between 22% and 25% of the obese participants said they had not smoked in at least a year. That percentage takes a dip when you notice that with the amount of participants who smokes at least three times a week, only 14% to 17% of them were obese. Keep in mind that tobacco use was not recorded. Even when broken down by sex, there was a decrease in those who were obese among both the male and female participants who regularly smoked.
Despite me just making smoking sound like the magic cure for obesity, note that I am a big believer in the importance of physical exercise and know that you cannot just drop weight simply by smoking. There are many other key factors in shaping a person's weight so I am glad that these studies are happening so there can finally be documented proof on all benefits of marijuana use.
This was from all hail maryjane dot com.. but the study has been plastered on any pro-marijuana site on the net..

My take on this study:

I can see why...

People that smoke marijuana really do tend to enjoy nature more, and really enjoy going out for walks and enjoying the outdoors. I know I do. Smoking has really helped me start to exercise, It keeps my lower back pain at bay..and helps a lot with the mental aspect, that heavier people may have when they do decide to walk.. I don't give a crap about anyone's idea of me..I just enjoy the walk and looking at all the lovely landscaping in our sweet little town.

Oakdale is really a lovely little town full of lovely homes and yards. It's really nice to go walking and enjoy the home owners hard work that they have put into their properties. My mindset is slower, I stop to admire the lovely flowers and before I know it my two mile loop is over. My back pain is minimal and I have enjoyed my neighborhood for what it truly is. How on earth can that be bad? Do the people that pass by me know I'm high? No how could they I have my sunglasses on and my headphones in. I do not look like a 'typical stoner' I am a mother out trying to get healthy and keep moving..
