There have been many victories over marijuana and I wanted to create a new blog just for that. I will post them here as they happen.

VICTORY: "Victory is a win, such as beating an opponent or achieving success in something. When you play a game and win it, this is an example of a victory."

Together we will win the war against our families and our communities.

Last Monday, the Maine House voted 98-45 to adopt the “Ought-Not-To-Pass” majority report from the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee. That Committee adopted that report on a lopsided 10-3 vote after a hearing that was dominated by parents, youth, and major health organizations testifying in opposition to the marijuana legalization bills. This ends the marijuana industry’s efforts to legalize marijuana in Maine in 2015."

Supposedly Neutral Federal Report Stacks The Deck Against Marijuana Legalization

"In 2012 Coloradans approved Amendment 64, which legalized marijuana for recreational use, by a vote of 55 percent to 45 percent. Last February a Quinnipiac University poll found that 58 percent of Colorado voters supported that decision, while 38 percent opposed it and the rest weren’t sure.

For prohibitionists determined to portray marijuana legalization in Colorado as a disaster, those poll results are inconvenient, since they indicate that public support for Amendment 64 was higher after more than a year of legal recreational sales and more than two years of legal possession and home cultivation than it was in 2012. Honest drug warriors would acknowledge the Quinnipiac numbers and perhaps try to balance them with other poll results. Dishonest drug warriors would do what the Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (RMHIDTA) does in its new report on marijuana legalization: change the numbers."

Marijuana Use: Detrimental to Youth.
American College of Pediatricians – September 2015

"Although increasing legalization of marijuana has contributed to the growing belief that marijuana is harmless, research documents the risks of its use by youth are grave. Marijuana is addicting, has adverse effects upon the adolescent brain, is a risk for both cardio-respiratory disease and testicular cancer, and is associated with both psychiatric illness and negative social outcomes. Evidence indicates limited legalization of marijuana has already raised rates of unintended marijuana exposure among young children, and may increase adolescent use."

Do you think marijuana legalization advocates will apologize for lying about the CBD concoctions made by drug dealers? They have no conscience.

Parent's desperate for help with their child's seizures are sadly realizing all the hype proclaiming CBD a miracle cure was just another lie. Studies are showing CBD not only doesn't work, in some cases it makes symptoms worse. CBD concoctions are contaminated with high levels of pesticides, and other cancer causing chemicals. Some parents are still giving their children this dangerous concoction in hopes it will work. Marijuana legalization advocates should be ashamed that they duped a vulnerable parents with false hope and empty promises just to profit off the backs of these sick children! Absolutley infuriates me!

I'm very happy to see that states across the U.S are kicking these bills to the curb, so parents in their state will not have to go through this scam.

Press Release:

[WASHINGTON, DC] – The Omnibus spending bill passed early this morning in Congress did not include some key provisions pushed by Big Marijuana —signaling a major victory for drug prevention advocates. The bill omitted four out of six provisions heavily lobbied for by legalization and industry forces.

“Despite the rhetoric, legalization is not inevitable, and it’s clear this Congress doesn’t have an appetite for it. Our hard work this session has paid off,” said Dr. Kevin A. Sabet, a former White House drug policy advisor who now serves as President of Smart Approaches to Marijuana (SAM).

Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Win Battle Against Federal Crackdown

Medical marijuana dispensaries scored a major win on Monday when a federal judge ruled that the Department of Justice cannot prosecute legal providers of medical cannabis.

"This is a big win for medical marijuana patients and their providers, and a significant victory in our efforts to end the federal government’s war on marijuana. Federal raids of legitimate medical marijuana businesses aren’t just stupid and wasteful, but also illegal," said Dan Riffle, director of federal policies for Marijuana Policy Project, in a statement.

"It's great to see the judicial branch finally starting to hold the Justice Department accountable for its willful violation of Congress's intent to end federal interference with state medical marijuana laws,"said Tom Angell, chairman of the pro-legalization group Marijuana Majority. We also saw two states and numerous local jurisdictions decriminalize marijuana possession and two states introduce legislation to allow on-site consumption (marijuana bars) and ballot measures for full legalization in five states (so far). Even Texas is jumping on the band wagon by legalizing limited medical use of marijuana.

Study: Alcohol Is The Real Gateway Drug, Not Marijuana

Alcohol is typically the first substance consumed by individuals who report polydrug use later in life, according to data published this month in The Journal of School Health.

Researchers from Texas A&M University and the University of Florida, Gainesville evaluated drug use patterns from a nationally representative sample of 2,835 12th graders.

Authors found that youth use of alcohol most often preceded the use of tobacco or marijuana. They also reported subjects’ age of alcohol initiation is the strongest predictor of later polydrug use.

“Alcohol is the most commonly used substance, and the majority of polysubstance using respondents consumed alcohol prior to tobacco or marijuana initiation,” they reported. “Respondents initiating alcohol use in sixth grade reported significantly greater lifetime illicit substance use and more frequent illicit substance use than those initiating alcohol use in ninth grade or later.”

Two more states proudly giving the feds the middle finger. We'll double it again in another two. Next up; California, Nevada, Arizona, Maine, and Massachusetts.

VICTORY! Marijuana Legal In DC!

In an act of open defiance Washington DC has moved forward with the legalization of marijuana for recreational use despite of threats of imprisonment for government officials involved in it's implementation. Congress in all of it's prohibitionist glory was powerless to stop the freight train of legalization and the law went into effect at 12:01 AM on Thursday, 02/26/2015.

Congress may yet decide to try to derail Initiative 71, the marijuana legalization bill that was passed by a margin of 70%, and look like total a jack ass in doing so. They can't force DC to enforce federal law and arresting the mayor, an African/American woman, for obeying the will of 70% of her constituents would be a public relations dream come true for our side. Even congress isn't that stupid...maybe. If they are so much the better for the proponents of drug reform. I mean really, just how good would that look? A bunch of predominantly old white men (the GOP) arresting a black woman for doing her sworn duty to honor the will of those that elected her?

In a recently released study the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration admits that marijuana use is not associated with an increased risk of automobile accidents.
Alcohol on the other hand, a substance the Chicken Little Prohibitionists turn a blind eye to, was 4 to 12 times as likely to be the cause of an accident when compared to sober (or even stoned) drivers. Funny how they fail to mention the obvious dangers of their drug of choice. Canada Vows To Legalize Marijuana

Canadian voters have thrown out their conservative government and elected a Liberal Parliament that among other things ran on a promise to legalize marijuana nationally. If they l i v e up to that promise, and there is no
reason to believe they won't, Canada will be the second country to fully end prohibition following Uruguay who
legalized marijuana in 2014.

http://tinyurl.com/oo37c9q

The Liberal party has stated and I quote;

"We will legalize, regulate, and restrict access to marijuana.
Canada’s current system of marijuana prohibition does not work. It does not prevent young people from using marijuana and too many Canadians end up with criminal records for possessing small amounts of the drug.
Arresting and prosecuting these offenses is expensive for our criminal justice system. It traps too many Canadians in the criminal justice system for minor, non-violent offenses. At the same time, the proceeds from the illegal drug trade support organized crime and greater threats to public safety, like human trafficking and hard drugs.
To ensure that we keep marijuana out of the hands of children, and the profits out of the hands of criminals, we will legalize, regulate, and restrict access to marijuana.
We will remove marijuana consumption and incidental possession from the Criminal Code, and create new, stronger laws to punish more severely those who provide it to minors, those who operate a motor vehicle while under its influence, and those who sell it outside of the new regulatory framework.
We will create a federal/provincial/territorial task force, and with input from experts in public health, substance abuse, and law enforcement, will design a new system of strict marijuana sales and distribution, with appropriate federal and provincial excise taxes applied."

Daily Marijuana Use Does Not Cause Changes In Brain Structure Or Development in Adolescents or Adults

From a study published in The Journal of Neuroscience

Abstract

Recent research has suggested that marijuana use is associated with volumetric and shape differences in subcortical structures, including the nucleus accumbens and amygdala, in a dose-dependent fashion. Replication of such results in well controlled studies is essential to clarify the effects of marijuana. To that end, this retrospective study examined brain morphology in a sample of adult daily marijuana users (n = 29) versus nonusers (n = 29) and a sample of adolescent daily users (n = 50) versus nonusers (n = 50). Groups were matched on a critical confounding variable, alcohol use, to a far greater degree than in previously published studies. We acquired high-resolution MRI scans, and investigated group differences in gray matter using voxel-based morphometry, surface-based morphometry, and shape analysis in structures suggested to be associated with marijuana use, as follows: the nucleus accumbens, amygdala, hippocampus, and cerebellum. No statistically significant differences were found between daily users and nonusers on volume or shape in the regions of interest. Effect sizes suggest that the failure to find differences was not due to a lack of statistical power, but rather was due to the lack of even a modest effect. IN SUM, THE RESULTS INDICATE THAT, WHEN CONTROLLING FOR ALCOHOL USE, GENDER, AGE, AND OTHER VARIABLES, THERE IS NO ASSOCIATION BETWEEN MARIJUANA USE AND STANDARD VOLUMETRIC OR SHAPE MEASUREMENTS OF SUBCORTICAL STRUCTURES.

CDC Tells Doctors To Stop Testing Patients For Marijuana

As part of its plan to change the healthcare community’s cavalier attitude towards the distribution of dangerous prescription painkillers, the federal government has advised physicians across the United States to stop testing their patients for marijuana.

Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released an updated set of guidelines for prescribing opioids to patients suffering from chronic pain. Buried inside the language of this attempt to put a leash on the prescription painkiller epidemic, the CDC urged doctors to modify their drug screening policies in an effort to prevent those testing positive for THC metabolites from being disqualified from treatment.

Although the agency wrote that it still believes urine testing is necessary to discover any “undisclosed use” of illicit substances, it specifically states that this rule no longer applies to THC.

Drive To Legalize Marijuana In Maine Advances On Judge's Ruling

An effort to allow Maine residents to vote to legalize recreational marijuana use advanced on Friday when a judge overruled a state official's decision invalidating some of the signatures needed to get the initiative on the ballot.

The ruling came a month after Maine Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap's office disqualified almost half of the 99,229 voter signatures gathered by marijuana activists, leaving the initiative without enough certified supporters to land a spot on the ballot.

The Secretary of State's office said it had invalidated the petitions over concerns that the signatures of notaries public on various forms submitted did not match up with versions on file in official state records.

The Campaign to Regulate Marijuana like Alcohol, a national group advocating for the referendum, appealed the state's decision last month, saying that officials had disenfranchised tens of thousands of Maine voters based on a "handwriting technicality."

Maine Business and Consumer Court Justice Michaela Murphy on Friday ruled the state used an "incorrect and improper standard" to invalidate the signatures.

The justices on Monday let stand a Montana Supreme Court ruling that upheld key provisions of a state law that rolled back much of the 2004 voter-approved initiative legalizing medicinal"

Good news!

Baker, Walsh, and DeLeo combine to oppose marijuana legalization.

"In an unusual show of bipartisan political muscle, three of the Massachusetts’ most powerful elected officials, along with voices from Boston’s health care, law enforcement, and nonprofit sectors issued a passionate cry Friday in opposition to a November ballot question that would legalize marijuana."

Growing Pueblo's Future's allegations of campaign finance violations against Citizens for a Healthy Pueblo were found to be WITHOUT merit. On July 7, 2016 Administrative Law Judge Robert Spenser ruled that the complaints filed against the Citizens for a Healthy Pueblo were unproven and dismissed.

Sen. Feinstein is a dual citizen of Israel and the U.S. Her loyalty cannot be relied on.

You will NEVER have victory over marijuana because GOD made it and put it on this earth for us to use. How stupid could anyone be to mount a campaign against a plant GOD made? It's way bigger than your mis-guided fears and government regulations meant to insure that only they can profit from its sale. Give it up. Find something actually important to do with your time. Your nation is falling apart. Who is going to give a s h i t about smoking pot when there is no food to eat?

Really?

The drug warriors are sure redoubling their efforts to tell incredible lies about marijuana and what has come of where it has been legalized.
I wonder what is the real motivation when someone lies about a position that they know they cannot support with truth.

"In the largest disciplinary action taken against medical marijuana doctors to date in Colorado, the state Medical Board on Tuesday suspended the licenses of four doctors for allegedly recommending excessive plant counts to more than 1,500 patients."
