Today is March 23 the day that Eric Medlen was killed in a testing accident in Florida Medlen was critically injured when his funny car developed the most severe tire shake and the side-to-side force of the shake caused his head to hit the roll bars around his head, causing severe head injuries. He became unconscious, causing the car to lose control and strike the wall. he drove for John Force from 2004-2007.Eric Medlen went to Oakdale High School and he will always be remembered from his hometown Oakdale,California.

Even with the all safety advances in the last few decades auto r_acing in all its forms remains a dangerous sport. In typical John Force fashion John Force R_acing teamed up with Ford R_acing and created The Eric Medlen Project (http://tinyurl.com/kwvec5a) to help ensure the future safety of drivers. May their efforts not be in vain. RIP Eric Medlen.

The problem with a severe head shaking is that you don't even have to hit your head on anything to have brain injuries. Just the shaking alone will cause the brain to slosh around a bit and beat itself against the skull. For all we know Medlen was already unconscious when his head made contact with the cage. Considering the performance of today's cars I'm surprised by how few injuries and fatalities there are. Hitting 300 MPH in a quarter mile is inherently dangerous. The sport will never be 100% safe but we must strive to make it safer. Sadly tragedies such as this one will never be eliminated.

Super Bowl 48
May 21, 2014
My thoughts on the Super Bowl is that the Seattle Seahawks defense held Denver Broncos offense. In the first quarter Peyton Manning missed the snap when he was trying to do a audible. The Seattle Seahawks stopped Broncos offense and held them. I couldn't believe Seattle Seahawks blew Denver Broncos ...

2014 Pro Bowl
May 21, 2014
My thoughts on the Pro Bowl is that I like how they did the new format with the draft and having Team Rice against Team Sanders. I think it was a good game when Team Rice made a comeback in the fourth quarter to beat Team Sanders 22-21!
