So it's been a while since I first posted this blog and a few others. Now several months later I am happy to see we have some active community members on our site. While I feel a bit of a bit sadden by the lack of photos, I respect everyone's desire for anonymity. I've learned a few things from checking out these varying blogs. One: we have many posters and not a lot of commentors; two- no one cares about my media/celebrity obsession (you are all much more sophisticated than that) and three: people are very passionate about their opinions (and I respect that). Thanks to everyone for supporting and visiting this site. While we all love that we are still in print this is a new venue to tap into another market. Also, football season is right around the corner, so please be sure and check out the video coverage from my colleagues Macho and Chambers as they place live feed from the games on the site.
Happy reading and thanks again.....
Hey 'bloggers,'
It was just a few short hours ago that I read co-worker Craig Macho's initial blog and thought 'hey, i want to do this.' Thing is this is my first time blogging- ever---anywhere. While much of my peer group is extremely tech savvy, I am not. I only started texting three months ago and I have owned a cell phone since 1995. Yeah that's right the era of the supersize Motorola flip phone. This was of course before anytime minutes, mobile to mobile service and No roaming fees. I will admit I love gadgets, but am intimidated by the unknown.
I mention that hours ago I was inspired to 'blog.' I must also admit that hours ago as I went to log on a not so great photo was attached to my name. Taken close to five years ago, sporting a hairdo that is better left for someone other than me. Completely distracted I had to e-mail our GM (not to mention new website work horse) Jennife Marek to express my disgust. 'Where's my new photo?' Yes, the Diva took over--- the vanity and tragedy of it all. Addicted to her crackberry, she had my note moments after I penned it and the photo was replaced as soon as she returned to the office. ....... As if she had nothing better to do.
So here it is my first blog. Is this what I am supposed to do? Ramble about unimportant information with the ideal that someone cares. Now.... it's your turn. Tell us what you think. If you identify with me and have been intimidated by the unknown- just reply. Together we can take on this tech world one hurdle, blog, text, twitter at a time.......
